In what is undoubtedly good news for Alex O’Loughlin fans, Carol Barbee has signed a 2 year deal with CBS. Why is it good news? Well, her priority will be “Three Rivers” – so, ideally this makes at least 2 seasons pretty likely. And seven figures ain’t too shabby! The timing of the show couldn’t be better either. If everything goes according to plan (evil laughter + hand rubbing) then “Three Rivers” will be a hit, the season will break in early December, everyone will start to miss Alex, and BAM! “The Back-Up Plan” will be released in January, and the second half of the season of the show will pick up around then also.
Nellie Andreeva from The Hollywood Reporter writes:
It was a dream development season for Carol Barbee. She saw her first pilot, “Three Rivers,” ordered to series at CBS. Another pilot, the CW’s “The Beautiful Life,” which she shepherded, also landed a series order.
Now Barbee is solidifying her ties with the folks behind both series, CBS TV Studios, with a new overall deal.
Under the two-year, seven-figure pact, Barbee will focus her attention on “Rivers,” on which she serves as executive producer/showrunner.
